MOJO Agency – a committed creative agency based in Brussels – is looking for a Lead Strategist. If you are an experienced professional with a keen eye and a passion for branding, design (print & digital) and visual creation, join us! We are looking for a Lead Strategist to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing our clients’ branding and communication strategies. You will work closely with our creative team to ensure that our clients’ projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will also be responsible for managing the creative process and ensuring that our clients’ projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Lead strategy across our client projects and tenders (brand, awareness, reputation, conversion, campaigns, fundraising). Your role is to transform the business and impact goals of our clients (NGOs, institutions, responsible businesses) into clear action plans, strong concepts, and measurable funnel mechanics—working closely with our Creative team, Account Managers, and freelancers.
Job description
-> Key Responsibilities:
- Discovery & Scoping: Analyse briefs, context, audiences, barriers, and insights (desk research, social listening, first-party data, benchmarks).
- Strategic Architecture: Define problem/opportunity, promise, RTBs, key messages, JTBD/personas, journey & funnel (See–Think–Do/Care), and channel mix.
- Brand & Comms: Positioning, brand platforms, territories of expression, editorial guidelines, multi-format content plans.
- Campaigns: Paid/owned/earned strategies, engagement/fundraising mechanics, calendars, integration of social/SEA/CRM/email/SEO.
- Creative: Write inspiring creative briefs, co-build concepts & KPIs, challenge and refine ideas with AD/CR.
- Performance & Measurement: Define KPIs, set up measurement plans (GA4, Tag Manager), AB-test hypotheses, optimisation loops.
- Pitches & Tenders: Shape strategy in RFP responses, storyline decks, pitch presentations with CEO and team.
- AI & Modern Practices: Integrate AI tools (research, ideation, pre-tests, light production) with ethics and compliance.
- Enablement: Produce frameworks, templates, and checklists to scale strategic quality across the agency.
-> Typical Deliverables
- Strategic note & orientation framework (One-Pager + detailed version)
- Creative brief & messaging matrix (FR/EN, NL + others if needed)
- Communication plan (paid/owned/earned) & editorial calendar
- Funnel map & conversion/fundraising plan (tracking & AB-tests)
- Measurement & KPIs: dashboards, post-mortems
- Pitch / tender decks (structure, storyline, evidence)
-> Profile
- 4–10+ years in agency (strategy, planning, brand/comms, or growth).
- Comfortable across brand + activation + full-funnel (not only performance or only brand).
- Strong ability to brief and challenge creative, account, media, and content teams.
- Excellent written & oral communication, confident in client presentations.
- Up-to-date social & digital culture (formats, algorithms, high-performing creatives).
- Measurement & iteration mindset (test-and-learn, AB-tests).
- Fluent FR, professional EN (NL is a strong plus).
- Knowledge of NGO/EU/impact sectors = big asset.
-> Skills & Tools
- Methods: JTBD, See–Think–Do, brand platform, comms planning, messaging, creative testing.
- Analytics: GA4, GTM, Looker/Data Studio, proper UTMing.
- Paid: Meta/Google/LinkedIn Ads basics (able to brief and read results).
- Basic SEO, CRM/email marketing, content & social.
- AI tools (ideation, research, drafting, QA) with critical thinking.
-> Skills & Tools
- Pitch win rate, clarity & adoption of briefs by the creative team.
- Client KPI progression (qualified reach, CTR, CPL, conversions/donations, cost per donation, engagement rate, brand lift when available).
- Perceived quality by clients (NPS, feedback).
-> Practical Details
- Freelance: 2–3 days/week (part-time), Brussels.
- Start: ASAP. Fee: depending on profile (day/hourly rate to be agreed).
- Close collaboration with CEO/Strategy, Creative, Account/PM, Paid Media.

- Create Visual Identities: Support the team in developing brand identities for various clients.
- Design a Variety of Visual Materials: Contribute to the production of communication materials, including brochures, posters, and social media assets.
- Assist with UX/UI Design: Support the design team in creating user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) for websites and applications.
- Trend Research and Inspiration: Research design trends and provide inspiration for ongoing projects.
